Woodland picks LinkedIn to engage professionals and create Green Economy!
Outdoor and adventure wear brand Woodland, launched another innovative campaign in line with the DNA of the brand and its ProPlanet initiative - ‘StepOut2goProPlanet’. With an aim to engage with professionals and cultivate a greener environment, Woodland, in collaboration with LinkedIn – the world’s largest professional network with more than 161 million members worldwide and over 15 million in India, to reach out to its high-quality member-base of Indian professionals and spread the message. ‘StepOut2GoProPlanet’ is a participative campaign that invites informative and innovative ideas from professional ProPlaneteers to make the environment, a greener place to live. The campaign has been designed, keeping in mind this year’s ‘World Environment Day’ theme – Green Economy and went live on 5th June 2012.
Speaking about the campaign, Mr. Harkirat Singh, Managing Director, Woodland Worldwide said, “Professionals today are increasingly aware and inclined to contribute a positive change to their environment. Leveraging the power of LinkedIn’s member-base, we plan to take the ‘StepOut2GoProPlanet’ to professionals who understand the need-of-the-hour of conserving the environment, encourage them to share insights and work with us in developing a green environment and a green economy. This campaign is yet another initiative under our ProPlanet umbrella where we will reach out to professionals who want to make a difference and thus, we invite their participation in the effort towards making earth a cleaner and a greener place to live.”
StepOut@GoProPlanet will leverage LinkedIn India’s member-base of discerning professionals, urging them to step out of their offices and go pro-planet. This initiative allows professionals to share their idea on any one of the 10 important sectors identified by the United Nations, in-turn igniting nation-wide engagement on LinkedIn.
Sharing his thoughts on this innovative campaign, Dhiman Mukherji, Director, Marketing Solutions – LinkedIn India said, “Through our large network of productive professionals from various industries, LinkedIn India provides Woodland with access to the most relevant consumer-set for this campaign. Our API based solutions will seek to engage with professionals and create an idea-sharing program on the network that will drive them and their connections towards making a difference.”
How ‘StepOut2GoProPlanet’ works: As part of the campaign, members who log on to LinkedIn will be able to see a display advertisement, which also leads to StepOut2GoProPlanet.com. After logging in with LinkedIn credentials, the user will be showcased a list of ProPlanet Ambassadors and a couple of incentives to participate in the contest.
A ProPlaneteer excited enough to share the green ideas needs to click on the “Start Here” button to share his green cause under a particular category. For example, if your green cause is related to water, then click on the drop-down option and you will get a list of the various categories to choose from. Select one of them, enter your email id and share your idea. Along with your own idea you can also see ideas that are being submitted by other LinkedIn-based ProPlaneteers and the number of visits their idea is getting. More the number of visits your cause gets, greater the chances of winning.
Besides an opportunity to share a radical or innovative idea, this Woodland campaign will provide members with rewards including free LinkedIn Premium accounts and Woodland e-vouchers worth Rs. 1000. StepOut2GoProPlanet campaign is a part of Woodland’s ProPlanet initiative and will be live for the next 4 months, concluding on 4 Sep’12.
