Yahoo! becomes South Indian

Have you ever had to face any sort of an issue owing to language barrier? I had to, back when I was in college. You see, I studied in a university-town down south and used to visit Bengaluru (then Bangalore) quite often. Now, in my university-town, things were alright because even the auto rickshaw drivers used to understand English or Hindi, primarily because of heavy concentration of north-Indian population there. But Bengaluru was different. I was often faced with problems of trying to explain something to people or asking for directions from locals.

So you can imagine how difficult things can be, if you don't understand the language of a particular place.

Taking this as a cue, Yahoo! has launched an advertisement to promote one of its products ' Messenger. If I explain what the video is about, it will, and I am quite serious, kill the essence and excitement of the commercial. It's not too hard, really. Just follow the link to this video and use your Facebook account to log in and watch it. If you don't have a Facebook account; heck, what the hell are you doing man? Get one right now!

Now, remember one thing ' do come back here after watching the Yahoo! Messenger ad and pour in your comments. We need to hear what you guys think Facebook or the very phenomenon of Web 2.0 is doing to the brands and the users and how things can be taken to a higher level. Let's get talking and share your ideas about this platform. I am extremely interested in seeing how radical can we get!

What Facebook has done to the virtual world is amazing. It hasn't just brought the world nearer, but has also proved as a solid platform for brands to promote their products. It is like giving a platform to a rock band to perform with an already packed house of audience!

Here's the URL to the video page again, if you missed it.
