YFLO Raga Young Women Achievers Awards 2012 Lara Dutta recognized for her contributions to Indian Cinema
Young FICCI Ladies Organization (YFLO) an affiliate ofFICCI (Federation of Indian Chambersof Commerce and Industry),conferred the “YFLO Raga Young Women Achiever Awards 2012”recognizing those who have distinguished themselves in public life. Awardees were felicitated by the veteran parliamentarian, Dr.NajmaHeptulla and prominent legal consultant,Ms. Zia Mody,MsNeenaMalhotra, President FLO (FICI Ladies Organization), MsDivyaSuri Singh, Sr. Vice Chairperson, YFLO and Ms Avantika Dalmia, Chairperson, YFLO.The YFLO awards celebrate entrepreneurship and professional excellence.
MsDalmia said “These awards recognize the essential role women play in all walks of life. Like previous years, today’s awardees have excelled in their respective endeavours. Through their courage, leadership and spirit they have made significant contributions to society and are role models for the young generation”.
MsHeptulla said “YFLO has played an outstanding role in promoting entrepreneurship and encouraging a generation of women to forge ahead of society’s barriers. These awards are not just recognition of talent but are an ode to the indomitable spirit of women”.
MsMody added “I would like to thank YFLO for recognizing these outstanding women, who with their dedication and passion, will encourage an entire generation to follow in their footsteps and make stellar contributions to society”.
Among those honoured include MsLara DuttaBhupathi (cinema), MsSuhasiniHaider (media), MsTejaswiniSawant (sports), MsSuhasiniKejariwal (visual arts), MsHarsimratKaurBadal (politics), MsTishaniDoshi (literature), MsHasinaKharbhih (community service), MsAmruda Nair (business entrepreneur), MsVijayalakshmiShivaji (performing arts) and MsSuhaniPittie (fashion).
Formed to address the hopes, desires and aspirations of Young India, the goal of YFLO is to empower women at various levels across different strata. Current statistics show that women make up only 3% of senior management positions in India and no more than 11% of all small and medium-sized enterprises are run or owned by women.
