ZEE Entertainment targets 230 Million viewers for DP World ILT20 Season 3
ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited, India's leading content and entertainment powerhouse, has ramped up its goals for the third season of the DP World International League T20 (ILT20).
As the official broadcast partner, ZEE is gearing up to deliver an exhilarating month-long cricket spectacle from January 11 to February 9, 2025. This season, the tournament, featuring 34 matches, aims to attract an impressive 230 million viewers, expanding its reach by incorporating South Indian channels.
Cricket fans worldwide can catch every moment of the action live on ZEE Entertainment's 15 linear channels or stream it for free on ZEE5, making it accessible to a global audience every evening.
ZEE Entertainment's ambitious plans for ILT20 Season 3 include creating an unforgettable carnival experience for cricket lovers, particularly targeting Indian travelers visiting Dubai. The company is set to leverage its extensive broadcast network and OTT platform to deliver the thrill of the game to millions.
Commenting on the upcoming season, Ashish Sehgal, Chief Growth Officer - Digital & Broadcast Revenue, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited, said: "Our goal is to offer cricket lovers a unique carnival experience, combining world-class cricket with luxury and comfort. This event is a golden opportunity for advertisers to connect with premium audiences and showcase their brands."
David White, CEO of DP World ILT20, highlighted the league's distinctiveness, noting: "The DP World ILT20 stands out with its allowance of nine international players per team and its non-traditional home-and-away format. With three premier venues—Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi—every team feels at home. As we strengthen team loyalty, we're also working with ZEE to establish Dubai as a top-tier sporting destination."
The league's success in its second season is evident, with 200,000 attendees across 30+ games and 348 million unique viewers globally, including 221 million from India alone. ZEE's strategic broadcasting approach, which captured a 46% female and 55% youth viewership share in India, underscores the league's widespread appeal.
For Season 3, DP World ILT20 is aiming even higher, focusing on broadening its Indian viewership base by adding South Indian channels. The upcoming season's promotional activities will span 40 channels, with new player signings set to be announced on September 15. The league's strong roster includes cricket stars like Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, David Warner, and Shimron Hetmyer.
The DP World ILT20, featuring six franchises, promises a thrilling season with 34 matches held across the UAE. The teams include Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriors, making it one of the most anticipated cricket tournaments globally.
