83% of senior professionals expect better times ahead: HeadHonchos.com's poll

While the job market has recently felt the ripple effect of economic uncertainty, senior professionals have re-affirmed their confidence in hiring activity. A poll conducted by HeadHonchos.com, India's premier job search portal for senior professionals, shows that 83% of respondents are not expecting a slowdown in the job market.

Just 17% of the respondents acknowledged the apprehension that the economic scenario will continue to be bleak, with a slowdown in hiring activities. The survey revealed that 39% of the respondents were of the opinion that the economy and the job market will see growth in the year ahead.44% of the respondents expect that the job market will see fluctuations, but did not have a pessimistic outlook.

The findings of the poll are an important determinant of hiring in the crucial mid-management and senior levels in an organization, as positive feedback points towards employee readiness to make a job change. This is in contrast to the mindset during economic slowdowns, when employees play safe and prefer not to shift from their present job.

Speaking on the survey, Mr. Uday Sodhi, CEO, HeadHonchos.com, said "As a leading career portal, exclusively focussed on senior candidates, we proactively interact with professionals to understand their mood and view of the future. Our latest study indicates that senior professionals are fairly optimistic about job prospects in the year ahead. 83% of senior professionals expect better times ahead."
