Ad impressions in Digital up 43% in Jul-Sept’23 compared to Jan-Mar’23: TAM AdEx

Ad impressions on Digital Advertising witnessed growth during both the periods Apr-Jun’23 and Jul-Sept’23 of 60% and 43%, respectively, compared to Jan-Mar’23, as per TAM AdEx’s quarterly report on Digital Advertising for Jul-Sept’23. Also, Jul-Sept’23 observed growth of 30% in ad impressions compared to Jul-Sept’22.

Services sector dominated with a 51% share of ad impressions, followed by Computers Sectors with 11% share of ad impressions in JulSept’23 over Apr-Jun’23. The Top 10 sectors together added 86% share of ad impressions in Jul-Sept’23. Retail was the only new entrant in the Top 10 sectors during Jul-Sept’23 over Apr-Jun’23 on Digital Advertising.

During Jul-Sept’23, Ecom-Media/ Entertainment/ Social Media ascended to the 1st position with 13% share of ad impressions over Apr-Jun’23. Cars and Laptops/ Notebooks were the new entrants in the Top 10 categories during Jul-Sept’23 over Apr-Jun’23. Together, the Top 10 categories added 55% share of ad impressions in Jul-Sept’23. Five out of the Top 10 categories were from the Services sector.

Amazon Online India retained its 1st position during Q’1, Q’2 and Q’3 of Y 2023. During Jul-Sept’23, the Top 10 advertisers collectively added 18% share of ad impressions. Amazon and Snapchat were the two advertisers present in Top 10 list of all the 3 quarters of Y 2023. Five New Advertisers entered in the Top 10 list during Jul-Sept’23.

Compared to Apr-Jun’23, Amazon.In ascended to the 1st position in Jul-Sept’23. Amazon.In was the leading brand in this period. Five new brands entered the Top 10 list during Jul-Sept’23 compared to Apr-Jun’23. The Top 10 brands contributed 14% share of ad impressions in Jul-Sept’23.

Over 190+ Categories registered positive growth. Ecom-Media/ Ent./ Social Media among categories witnessed the highest increase in impression with growth of 27%, followed by Cars with 133% growth during Jul-Sept’23 compared to Apr-Jun’23. In terms of growth %, Retail Outlets-Departmental Stores category witnessed the highest growth % among the Top 10, that is, 9.3x.

During Jul-Sept’23, Twitter.com was the leading publisher with 44% share of ad impressions, whereas Youtube.com secured 2nd position with 12% share of ad impressions. The Top 10 web publishers together accounted for 50% share of the ad impressions in Jul-Sept’23.

Desktop Display was the leading Digital Platform with 46% share of impressions during Jul-Sept’23, followed by In App Display with 16% share. Programmatic was the most popular method for promoting Ads on Digital platforms, accounting for 86% of total ad impressions, followed by Ad Network method with 11% share in Jul-Sept’23.
