Adgully Exclusive | Story of a Young Model & Actor 'Aditya Singh Rajput'
So, Aditya Singh Rajput was quite fortunate that his mother supported him in his walk into the glamour industry. This young lad, having done as many as 125 ad films, started his modelling career in Delhi and gives credit to his mother being supportive all through. "You know how moms typically are. But my mother always used to say that my kid is so better then the kids in the ads and serials," he said.
Aditya got his portfolio done from Subodh Das ' one of the biggest names in the arena of fashion photography. He did not even get his moustache shaved, but the photo shoot went well and the result was commendable. Following this, he got selected through a contest and was called to Mumbai. He auditioned and got selected for a commercial with Hrithik Roshan. After this, he was selected for an advertisement for Pepsi in Bangladesh.
Aditya was back in Delhi when he got a call for Britannia Little Hearts and had to move to Mumbai again. Work was coming to him fast and, at a young age of 19, he had to master the art of convincing his parents. But since his mother was always supportive, everything fell in place.
He followed the usual channel of submitting his portfolio to agencies for a while but then after gradually building contacts in the industry, he now gets approached directly. When people saw his portfolio, Aditya got a bag of mixed responses. "I had all mixed reactions. I used to become conscious when I used to go to the auditions where I always saw many known faces from the modelling world. I wouldn't be sure about cracking the audition but then finally I got them because I was always confident," he says with boyish smile lighting up his face.
Aditya does not come across as a massive, muscular bloke. So did his average physique ever pose an issue in his career? "No, I never had a problem in my whole modelling career because you need great physique if you are doing some underwear ad or a deodorant ad. I always got promoted in the ads catering the youth," chuckles Aditya.
This spiritual lad has been a part of 125 advertisements spanning brands like BSNL, Amul, Coca Cola, Hero Honda, Pepsi, T-Series, Close-Up etc.
The journey hasn't been a cakewalk for Aditya. "When you have two hands to pull you up, there are ten hands to pull you down," he says. Speaking about the bad experiences, he says what disappointed him was that some of his friends have been back-biting him out of jealousy. "But then it's ok. I forgive them because when people are talking about you ' good or bad ' you are gaining popularity," Adiya says with a twinkle in his eye.
Thanks for chatting up, Aditya. Adgully wishes you the best in life.
