AkzoNobel paints brighter future for Punjab students
AkzoNobel, a global leader in paints and coatings, renowned for its Dulux Paints, celebrated five years of its flagship education initiative, Project Parivartan, with a colorful makeover for two government schools in the district.
During the summer vacation, ten volunteers from AkzoNobel’s Mohali plant and skilled Dulux painters dedicated their time to create eight vibrant wall murals using nearly 700 liters of Dulux paint. These murals, designed to symbolize the boundless potential of the students, now serve as daily sources of inspiration.
Rajiv Rajgopal, Chairman and Managing Director of AkzoNobel India, shared his enthusiasm, stating: “As part of AkzoNobel Cares, we are honored to contribute to a more vibrant and empowered future for Mohali’s youth. Project Parivartan not only enriches academic experiences but also fosters holistic development and access to quality healthcare for students and their families.”
The murals have been met with enthusiasm from the school community. Shubhwant Kaur, Head of Saneta Government High School, expressed: “The children were ecstatic to return to school and see the colorful, inspirational murals. The vibrant colors now greet us every day.”
Sanjeev Kumar, Head of Mauli Baidwan Government High School, added: “This transformation has positively impacted not just the school but also the local community’s perception of our institution.”
Launched in 2019 in collaboration with the Department of School Education (Government of Punjab), Project Parivartan supports nearly 2,000 children annually across five government high schools in Mohali. The initiative provides supplementary education, life-skills training on mental wellness, child sexual abuse awareness, and career counseling. AkzoNobel has also invested in infrastructure upgrades, including a science laboratory and donated 2,000 liters of Dulux paint for school renovations.
