Alberta Ferretti steps down as Creative Director of her fashion brand
Italian designer Alberta Ferretti, renowned for her elegant designs and a clientele that includes Taylor Swift, has stepped down from her role as creative director of the fashion brand she founded in the 1980s, as announced by the Aeffe group, the company’s owners, on Tuesday.
Ferretti, who led her final collection at the 2025 spring-summer Milan Fashion Week, explained her decision to step aside after 43 years at the helm. In her statement, she shared, "The enthusiasm and passion I have towards my work and towards fashion are unchanged, but I believe that at this point of my career it is a right and conscious choice to pave the way for a new creative chapter for the brand I founded."
While Ferretti will remain a vice president of the Milan-listed Aeffe group, which also owns Moschino and Pollini, the company plans to announce a new creative director in the coming months. Known for her sensual and refined style, Ferretti has continued to be a prominent figure in the fashion world, even designing outfits for US pop sensation Taylor Swift during her "Eras Tour" this year.
