Australia Network Viewership Grows by 16%

Australia Network recorded its highest ever audience figures in Asia Pacific in the latest Synovate PAX survey, for the 12 month period ending in Quarter 3, 2009. Australia Network has also seen year-on-year growth in all its key markets across Asia among viewers watching in the past 30 days.

Over 1.2 million viewers watch Australia Network per month, and over 475,000 every week. Taking further account of the audience measured in India in more markets by TAM India's people meter service, the monthly viewing base now exceeds 2 million and the weekly viewing base close to one million.

Bruce Dover, Chief Executive, Australia Network, said, "In this increasingly fragmented and competitive market place we are delighted with these results. Not only do they demonstrate our real appeal and engagement with our viewers they also illustrate our on-going commitment to providing quality and thought-provoking content to the region."

PAX recorded an increase of 61% in Bangkok among viewers who have watched in the past 7 days over the last 12 months, followed by Jakarta with 49% and Hong Kong with an increase of 34%.

The emerging market of Seoul also doubled the number of viewers who have watched the channel in the past 30 days. The Synovate survey not only measures the growth of Australia Network but has also highlights the up-scale profile of its viewers who are continuing to invest, travel and purchase during the past 12 months.
