Bangalore is set to win Madison's IPL mind-bender
While the bookie industry is running overtime raking in the moolah with predictions about who will lift the IPL title this year, Madison Media, also decided to plunge headlong in to the frenzy with its own brand of betting funda. This bet challenged the participants' professional skills more than it asked for punter instincts. At the start of the cricketing season, the Rs 2300-crore Madison Media Group, a part of Madison World, a diversified Communication Group, had announced its own Madison Prediction League †predict wisely and collect a total prize money of Rs50,000 bumper booty!
Here Madisonites in teams of two from across the country had to predict ratings for each IPL match based on a defined target audience and market. In all 23 teams including Godrej Gladiators, Indianoil Warriors, Dish Challengers, and many more are in the race.
Out of the total 60 IPL matches to be played this season, Madison plans to run the contest for half of it †30 matches †of which, 15 have already been decided on the field. And off field, Primetime Penetrators, the team from Bangalore is leading the Madison challenge.
In the Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore match played on April 2, Madisonites was asked to predict the TVR for Tamil Nadu market for 23-44 all adults, CS households, SEC ABC. Mumbai's Maratha Isyan team won the contest by predicting TVR of 4.3, a neat prediction that almost came closest to the actual TVR of 4.69.
Highlighting the benefits of this mind game, Mr. Rajiv Gopinath, COO, Madison Media Infintiy Unit 2, who has conceptualized the contest said that the contest provides the team a good break from work and also help to bring people from various offices together, besides honing their professional skills.
