In 2024, as the emphasis on environmental sustainability intensifies, individuals are becoming more conscious of the contents of the various beauty products they utilize and they start to be more cautious about the chemicals and ingredients of these items. Consequently, natural and organic raw materials are becoming more in demand, as well as the inclination to consume organic and natural products. Such a change in the behaviour of the buyers must be viewed as an important turning point in the evolution of the beauty industry.
As for the trends, it appears that people are becoming more and more active on Instagram and other social media. With greater confidence in the effectiveness of these products recommended by their favourite influencers, people appear to have the propensity to buy the products. That is the reason why the number of collaborations with influencers will increase to meet the growing needs.

In 2025, I expect to find RENEE Cosmetics begin a new journey filled with creativity. To meet customers’ varying needs the company will diversify its offering further and focus on online marketing. RENEE wishes to strengthen its offline connections as well through a multi-channel strategy integrating e-Commerce and growing its shop-in-shop store networks.
I am also eager to watch how RENEE preserves its core principles of inclusivity, self-expression, and good ethics in the business. The company is expected to entrench its leadership in the Indian beauty market while also expanding to other nations making beauty solutions available to more people.
Headwinds and tailwinds to impact the industry in 2025
As we move into 2025, some challenges we expect to face will be the increased competition in the beauty industry as more players enter the space. Also, consumers are shifting to the more natural look by using less chemicals and using less effort to achieve beauty. Furthermore, with the times changing and technology advancing, the ability to provide a more advanced realistic approach to the consumers is becoming more and more demanding. All of these technological advancements in beauty will require brands to set the bar even higher than the last selection on the table. As the market expands in which consumers want to purchase from, it will be key to include such technology that meets the expectations of consumers. This, however, will make it a headwind for the industry.
On the flip side, social media’s effect on the expansion is almost 100% positive, more so due to social media. Social media has made it easier for everything, and influencer marketing is also very effective. The amount of trust that consumers place in social media figures is rising, and when their favourite ones promote something, the endorsement is much stronger. They see actual sights and tested outcomes with influencers, and hence this strategy remains rising in significance.
