Dentsu Digital launches mobile design division

Dentsu Digital has launched WWWOW a new dedicated unit specializing in mobile design & applications.

This unit would support the design of mobile communications, especially on WAP. The unit will have a good mix of technical and design savvy professionals who understand both the challenges and the opportunities in the emerging mobile space.

Sandeep Goyal, Chairman Dentsu India said, "WWWOW will be a subset of our design agency 'iki'. We are doing a lot of work in Symbian, Flashlite and J2ME, and there will be a dedicated team specializing in mobile advergaming."

Goyal added, "The unit will be based in Delhi and will service requirements across Incelligence, Mobimost and Softcell, our three specialist mobile agencies. It is important to understand that creative in this medium cannot be broad-brushed as just "digital' as the internet and mobile have very different rendering requirements. This itself leads to very different design and usability perspectives. At WWWOW we wish to create expertise & knowledge that leads the industry in this emerging medium."

The Dentsu Digital team is headed by Krishna Prasad, Director, Dentsu Digital; Gaurav Luthra, Head ' Content; Akifumi Miyahara, Executive Vice-President ' Media and Digital Development; and Yutaka Kamoshita, Vice President, Dentsu Digital comprise the agency top brass. All of them report to Rajesh Aggarwal, President, Dentsu India.
