Disney joins hands with SRK for Tween Musical Drama

Natasha Malhotra, Vice President and General Manager, Walt Disney Television International India, said, "Ishaan' brings Disney brand promises to life ' optimism, self-expression, imagination, entertainment, quality ' and joins our music-driven properties including "Hannah Montana' and "High School Musical,' in delivering relatable characters and stories to India's youth."

The television production arm of Red Chillies Entertainment, headed by Bollywood's biggest superstar, Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan, has been commissioned to produce the tween musical drama. Regarding his company's foray into kids and family entertainment, Shah Rukh said, "I have always enjoyed watching Disney Channel with my kids and I am happy that my company is producing a show that will be part of the Disney family."

Ishaan is the inspiring musical journey of a boy who finds friends and a sense of belonging through music. Extremely intelligent and talented, Ishaan finds his true calling and his friends through music when he joins a school band "Yaari'. Ishaan's story showcases the triumph of friendship and passion over ambition, set in the backdrop of music. Ishaan's band mates; the gregarious Ron, strong willed Shyla and talented Pulkit, soon become Ishaan's source of strength and help him realise that music and Yaari is where he truly belongs.
