Shera perpares kids for Commonwealth Games 2010

Together with the much loved Chamki, Googly, Boombah and their friends, Shera ' the black and yellow striped, athletic Shera, the mascot of the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi is helping spread the message ' Come Out and Play!

Galli Galli Sim Sim through its combined efforts on television (Doordarshan, POGO and Cartoon Network) and community outreach actively promotes the importance of health and fitness. Welcoming Shera in the Galli helps reinforce the importance that fun activities such as games and dancing are ways in which children can stay healthy.

To celebrate the occasion of Shera's visit, children from Pratham, a nonprofit organization that partner's with Galli Galli Sim Sim outreach program, came to the Galli to meet with their favorite friends, Chamki, Boombah and Googly along with Shera.

With Shera, the most visible face of the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi and muppets of the show Galli Galli Sim Sim, the promotional activity was undertaken to channelize the excitement and extend the values of the Games to children across the country

Speaking on the occasion, Sashwati Banerjee, Executive Director, Sesame Workshop India said, "Sesame Workshop India is delighted to welcome Shera in the Galli. It's another great opportunity where we can reach children with their favorite role models to promote good health and wellbeing. I am sure that Shera and Galli Galli Sim Sim, will play a critical role in delivering this to over 13 million children who watch the show regularly in India1."
