Double delight for Chairman - Anugrah Madison
The award was presented to him by the MD of "The Hindu", Mr N.Murali and accompanying him on the dias were president of RMAI - Pradeep Kashyap and chairman of Madison World - Mr Sam Balsara, at a function in Chennai.
The event which saw a very prominent guest list from the advertising industry, had people full of praises for Mr R.V. Rajan, not to miss the humor that came along while sharing individual experiences. Mr. N. Murali while mentioning his early days of struggle also said that the reason behind Mr. Rajan's current house in Chennai has 6 toilets in it because he shared just a couple of them with almost 50 people living in a chawl in Mumbai till the age of 26. He also mentioned it was only Mr Rajan's dynamic nature that helped the organization to organize events for the Ad club.
Complimenting to such praises for Mr. Rajan, Mr. Kashyap also added a few words calling the day as important and memorable as his wedding.
The journey for Mr Rajan has been quite eventful. Nobody knew that a majority sale of stakes of Anugrah to Madison would result in making it a division for Madison now. Adding further to Mr. Rajan's achievements, Mr. Sam Balsara, another life time achievement recipient from the Advertising Agencies Association of India two days ago said, "Rajan has shown us that the path you follow is more important than the destination. The biggest courage you've displayed is in writing this book."
Mr. Rajan was certainly very humble while delivering his acceptance speech in which he mentioned that Anugrah's association with Madison world and his personal association with RMAI were responsible for getting Anugrah the national recognition and fame. He also said that writing an autobiography is not that difficult a task if people start treating it as a service that can also be a social commentary of the times as mentioned once by his motivator, noted historian from Chennai, Mr S. Muthiah.
