Dubai Internet City partners with Nasscom for global innovation
Dubai Internet City (DIC), a major tech hub in the region, has formed a strategic collaboration with India’s National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom). Announced during GITEX Global, which runs until October 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the partnership seeks to drive technology innovation and cultivate cross-border talent development.
Part of TECOM Group PJSC’s 10 specialized business districts, DIC will assist Nasscom members in establishing their presence in Dubai by offering guidance on setting up operations and providing access to its dynamic business ecosystem. This collaboration aims to streamline market entry for Indian tech firms and create growth opportunities.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City. It sets out a framework for technology transfer and investment to foster business expansion in both markets.
Ammar Al Malik emphasized the significance of the partnership: “Our partnership with Nasscom empowers the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators to build upon the UAE’s and India’s shared success story. Dubai Internet City’s collaboration with Nasscom is a testament to the legacy and uniquely entrepreneurial spirit that has defined bilateral ties between both our nations over five decades. This partnership will facilitate knowledge sharing and provide access to Dubai’s dynamic technology ecosystem, enriched by visionary roadmaps such as Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’.”
Shivendra Singh, Vice President and Head of Global Trade at Nasscom, highlighted the importance of the deal, stating: “This agreement is a pivotal step in accelerating market access for Indian tech companies in the Middle East, a region we view as a critical growth driver for our industry. Our strategic partnership with Dubai Internet City will fast-track go-to-market strategies, enabling our members to scale rapidly, seize new opportunities, and drive transformative growth. The Middle East’s dynamic ecosystem offers immense potential for innovation, and this collaboration reinforces our commitment to harnessing that potential and building a strong foundation for future success.”
The collaboration will allow Nasscom members to connect with Dubai Internet City’s community of over 3,500 companies, which include global tech giants like Microsoft, Google, and Nvidia, as well as a network of more than 29,000 professionals. The partnership also paves the way for joint research and development initiatives to produce globally relevant technological solutions.
Additionally, Nasscom’s business community will gain access to a range of resources, including workshops, events, and co-working spaces within DIC and Dubai Media City. These assets aim to facilitate knowledge exchange and foster connections within Dubai's tech scene.
