EuroKids launches EuroSchool Astronomy Club
The launch was formally done by Dr. Manojendu Choudhary, visiting fellow at HBCSE and a nuclear astronomer, at EuroSchool, Airoli, Mumbai. The event named "Gliding through the Milky Way' was guided by Jatin Rathod, an expert in electronics instrumentation with the Nehru Planetarium who shared interesting and informative information with the audience, which comprised of kids and their parents. The event also gave an opportunity to do unique night sky observation along with their parents.
Speaking about the new initiative, Dr Natasha, Principal - EuroSchool said, "Children have always been fascinated with space. From watching a rocket launch to looking for constellations and spotting meteorites, astronomy sparks their interest and imagination to the core. At EuroSchool, we believe "Learning is fun"; with the launch of the EuroSchool Astronomy club we aim to popularize science among kids and let them explore universe beyond their horizon."
The Club is conceived keeping the curiosity factor in mind that children have about the universe. With yearlong programmes that includes observation sessions of the summer, spring and winter sky, kids will get a chance to learn more about extraterrestrial objects.
With this educational initiative EuroKids seems eyeing to make a unique mark, at the same time attract more of its target audience and in a way lead the sector.
