Fox & Hulu reveal long-term agreement for streaming content distribution

Fox Entertainment and Hulu have unveiled a multi-year partnership that ensures the Disney-owned streaming platform retains exclusive streaming rights to Fox's programming lineup. This agreement, valued at over $1.5 billion across four years according to Deadline, also extends their joint marketing initiatives.

Building on a collaboration spanning over two years, the deal reflects the rising consumer demand for streaming services, prompting traditional broadcasters to seek partnerships for distributing their content. Under the new terms, Hulu will continue to stream Fox's flagship shows, such as "The Masked Singer," "The Simpsons," and "Family Guy," the day after they air on television.

Lauren Tempest, Hulu's general manager, noted that the extended partnership has significantly enhanced their joint marketing impact, enabling viewers to access content conveniently.

The deal also renews Hulu's ability to stream off-season episodes of several Fox unscripted series. Meanwhile, Fox is witnessing rapid growth in its own ad-supported streaming platform, Tubi, which is projected to generate over $1 billion in revenue this fiscal year. Disney’s recent strategies, including price adjustments and measures against password sharing, have similarly bolstered its streaming division’s profitability.
