Have a DTH? Pay tax!

If you are a DTH subscriber, then get ready to pay tax. As according to the new entertainment tax regime in Delhi brought out by the government all the DTH subscribers have to pay the tax.

According to the media reports, this decision was taken by the Delhi Cabinet earlier this month and will come into effect from this month itself.

The residential DTH subscribers will have to pay Rs 20 more per connection, whereas commercial subscribers will have to pay Rs 50. Subscribers of Cable TV are paying tax in Delhi.

As per the reports, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry appears to be unaware of this.

This new tax will add to the service tax of 10.3 per cent on subscription as well as advertisement revenue.
