Kindly share your entrepreneurial journey from ShopClues to Kindlife? What inspired you to initiate Kindlife.in, a multi-branded e-commerce website?

My entrepreneurial journey from ShopClues to Kindlife has been exciting and extremely rewarding. At ShopClues, we brought the bazaars of India online, enabling online commerce for 400 million consumers from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. I learned invaluable lessons about the e-commerce landscape and witnessed its transformative potential.

Post-COVID, we all shifted towards better-for-you products with toxin-free ingredients at the core. While consumers were purchasing better and brands shared the same values, there was no platform simplifying this. Kindlife is aimed at making better living easy. Our promise is simple:

  • No toxins: You can shop from 800+ brands with no nasty ingredients
  • No trolls: Join an authentic, judgment-free community
  • No trash: Planet-care at the core

Within two years, we have become young India’s favourite wellness, nutrition, and beauty platform.

You have been the Co-founder of ShopClues, could you share some insights on it.

As the Co-Founder of ShopClues, I had the privilege of being part of a pioneering venture that revolutionized the e-commerce landscape in India. ShopClues aimed to democratize e-commerce by providing a platform for small and medium-sized businesses to reach a wider audience and bring Bharat online. Our journey was marked by innovation, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, ultimately propelling us into the ranks of the Unicorn Club.

Apart from this, you are also an angel investor. Please tell us about few of the ventures that you have invested in?

As an angel investor, I have invested in several ventures spanning various industries. Some notable investments include healthcare startups focused on leveraging technology to improve access to healthcare services, sustainable fashion brands that prioritize ethical sourcing and production, and education technology platforms aimed at democratizing learning opportunities.

Having such a vast range of interests, what is your passion that drives you to achieve so much in your life?

My passion for innovation, building for long-term impact, and empowering others is what drives me to achieve so much in my life. I am deeply committed to making a difference in the world and believe that entrepreneurship is a powerful vehicle for driving meaningful change.

You have been titled as the first Indian woman to enter the coveted “Unicorn Club”. How was the feeling that time?

Being the first Indian woman to enter the coveted “Unicorn Club” was a moment of immense pride and validation of our team’s hard work and dedication. It was a testament to the potential of Indian entrepreneurship and a reminder of the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.

What are your views on the growth of the E-commerce industry in India? What are your predictions for the future?

The growth of the e-commerce industry in India has been nothing short of phenomenal, driven by factors such as increasing internet penetration, smartphone adoption, and digital literacy. I believe that this growth trajectory will continue in the coming years, fueled by innovations in technology, logistics, and consumer behavior. The future of e-commerce in India is bright, with ample opportunities for entrepreneurs to innovate and disrupt traditional business models. Technology and AI will be critical for the growth.

Please share some of the achievements that have made you the happiest.

Some of the achievements that have made me happiest include building successful businesses that make a positive impact, being recognized as a trailblazer in the entrepreneurial space, and having the opportunity to inspire and empower others. On a personal note, my family and loved ones bring me immense joy and fulfillment, serving as a source of strength and support throughout my journey.

How do you maintain the balance between your professional as well as personal life? Have there been any instances where you have been in a dilemma about work and personal life?

Balancing professional and personal life is undoubtedly a challenge, but one that I prioritize and actively work towards. I believe in setting boundaries, delegating tasks, and practicing self-care to maintain harmony between the two spheres. While there have been instances where I faced dilemmas, I’ve learned to prioritize what truly matters and make decisions aligned with my values and priorities.

What would be your advice to women entrepreneurs?

To women entrepreneurs, my advice would be to believe in yourself, embrace your unique strengths and perspectives, never be afraid to take risks or pursue your passions, and simply show up. Surround yourself with a strong support network, seek mentorship, and continually invest in your personal and professional growth. Remember that challenges are opportunities in disguise, and resilience and perseverance are key to overcoming obstacles and achieving success.
