I’ll keep on working till they shoot me down: Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar, who was present for the trailer launch of his latest film ‘Khel Khel Mein’ along with the star cast Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Pragya Jaiswal and director Mudassar Aziz, opened up about not delivering a hit for long time in an interaction with the media.
Akshay narrated a short story before affirming that he will continue to work hard, saying, “I don’t think too much about the films that have not done so well. Four-five films of mine don’t work and I get so many messages telling me “Sorry yaar, fikar mat kar”! Arrey, mara nahi hoon main! (I am not dead!) It feels like people are sending me obituary messages, how people send condolences through messages. One journalist even wrote, “Don't worry, you’ll be back”. I called him up and asked him why he was writing this? What does ‘back’ mean? Where have I gone? I am here and I’ll keep working. Hamesha kaam karte rahunga, chaahe log kuch bhi bole (I’ll always keep working, no matter what people say).”
Continuing further, he said, “In the morning I wake up, exercise, and leave for work and return home. Jo bhi kamata hoon apne dum pe kamata hoon (Whatever I earn, I earn on my own). Kisi ka kuch khaunga nahi main kabhi (I’ll never snatch anything from anyone). I’ll keep on working till they shoot me down.”
Akshay’s past films which have failed at the box office include: ‘Sarfira’, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, ‘Mission Raniganj’, ‘Selfiee’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, and ‘Bachchhan Pandey’.
