Kritikka Avasthi shares her experience of working with King Khan!

What would be that one dream which every aspiring actor who steps into the world of the Indian Film Industry has in their checklist? Apart from making it to the top, it’s working with Shah Rukh Khan, or let’s say, the “King Khan of Bollywood.” We all have grown up watching his magic on the screen, right from playing Rahul in “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, to watching him play Rahul in “Chennai Express.”  Imagine the thrill of living this dream at the present moment, yes! The thought itself gets your heart racing. Speaking of which, one such talent with a passion for her craft and a portfolio in her hand could make this dream come to reality.

 Kritikka Awasthi, a renowned Indian actress, is known for her roles in various YouTube web series and OTT shows. She recently appeared in Muthoot Fincorp's latest video titled "Book My Gold Loan," alongside the legendary Shah Rukh Khan. This video is part of a marketing campaign that introduces a groundbreaking service, allowing customers to schedule gold loans over a single missed call. In the video, Kritikka takes on the role of a choreographer, teaching Shah Rukh Khan some of his signature dance moves for the campaign.

 "From seeing him on TV to actually working with him on a project, it was an incredible experience. He's incredibly charismatic and incredibly humble," Kritikka shared.

 The path to her success has been anything but ordinary. In 2015, she moved to Mumbai with the goal of catching the eye of casting directors. The beginning was quite an adventure, which included shooting 24 television commercials that significantly increased her visibility and recognition. Over time, her early successes led to collaborations with well-known YouTube channels such as TVF and Filter Copy, which opened doors for her to work on OTT platforms.

 Instagram has become a powerful tool for gaining recognition today. Beyond her other projects, it was her viral video at the Zee Cine Awards in March 2024 that marked a turning point in her career. Initially, she had hoped for Shah Rukh Khan to watch and comment on her video, but she received a call only 15 days later. Little did she know, her dream was about to come true! She was then chosen to be Shah Rukh Khan's choreographer, and the preparation for the role was seamless, thanks to her extensive training in various dance forms like Kathak, ballet, jazz, and contemporary.

 On the 29th day, to be precise, she found herself on set with Shah Rukh Khan, witnessing first hand his polite, courteous, and kind nature. "He treated everyone with respect and a warm smile. Before this, I was a fan of his work, but after working with him, I developed a deep admiration for his character," she shared.

 The filming process was more than just an opportunity to play a role, especially the dance scene with Shah Rukh Khan. "It felt like we were all part of a big college gang putting on our own rock concert at a college fest. It was incredibly fun," Kritikka recalled, highlighting the lively atmosphere on set.

 Kritikka mentions, “Shah Rukh Khan has been a mega superstar for about three decades, creating a legacy that the whole country remembers and takes pride in. Having Shah Rukh as the brand ambassador is such a smart move on the part of Muthoot FinCorp. As the campaign aims to make gold loans easily accessible for the general public, having Shah Rukh Khan, who is a big name in the industry, makes the campaign super grand. This song is going to be everywhere.”

 Talent and Persistence can lead to incredible opportunities and open multiple doors as it did for Kritikka Awasthi. Her journey demonstrates, taking small leaps of faith with loads of hard work and passion makes one's vision come to reality. With her enthusiasm for the art, dedication, hardwork and a little bit of magic, Kritikka proves that no dream is too big if we strive to chase it with all our heart.
