Madalsa Chakraborthy on Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Mithun Chakraborthy
Actor Mithun Chakraborthy will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for this year at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony on October 8, 2024. The 74-year old actor is being honoured for his immense contribution to cinema.
While the veteran actor has expressed his happiness to be receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour in the field, his family too is ecstatic on this news. Mithun’s daughter-in-law and actress Madalsa Chakraborthy, married to Mimoh Chakraborthy, shared her thoughts on receiving this news with Adgully.
Sharing her joy, Madalsa says, “It feels great! Of course, it’s a moment of great honour for the entire family, and it’s a great achievement. Dad deserves it completely. We all are over the moon. I spoke to dad in the morning today, and he is also feeling full of gratitude and extremely grateful. There is a lot that dad has achieved in his life through his hard work, and we are all very proud of him. Every day we learn so much from him. We’re all very grateful also to the universe to have blessed us with this moment.”
She further says that it is one of the most important milestones in her father-in-law’s career. “It’s a very special day for all of us. Every milestone is important, but this one is super special, it is a very big achievement at the end of the day. Dad has had his share of achievements and struggles; the hard work that he has done in his life has paid off. He has been so committed, dedicated and hardworking all these years. We all learn and continue to be inspired by him every day.”
When asked what she has learnt from the legend, Madalsa says, “Just that you have to be at it. Life is full of surprises, and there are not always going to be very good moments in life. There will be moments that will test your patience. You have to be strong. You have to be very realistic and humble also at the same time. Being grounded is one of our biggest strengths, because that is what determines our attitude in our careers. I think one of the major things that I have taken inspiration from him is to as humble and as grounded as he is. Everybody knows how giving and generous he is. Dad is the kind of person whom people look up to. This is something which is only achieved by being the kind of person that he is.”
Madalsa also informed that Mithun, who has been a bit unwell a few months ago, is now fit and fine and that is it is a huge relief for the family.
