Mrinal Pande joins Prasar Bharti as chairperson

The government has appointed Mrinal Pande as the Prasar Bharati chairperson.

Mrinal will replace Arun Bhatnagar, who had resigned in the month of Decmeber. Arun's resignation has been accepted. At present Prasar Bharti is being managed by CEO BS Lalli.

Mrinal will continue her term with Prasar Bharti till April 30, 2011.

Mrinal Pande is the daughter of Hindi novelist Shivani. Mrinal had recently left Hindustan Times, where she was the Chief Editor and was heading the hindi edition 'Hindustan.'

According to the reports, Shyam Benegal, Muzaffar Ali and journalist Suman Dubey are likely to join the Prasar Bharati board.
