Omnicom appoints Sean Donovan as President of Asia

Omnicom Advertising Group (OAG) has appointed Sean Donovan as President of its Asia division. Donovan, who previously served as President of TBWAWorldwide's Asia operations for over five years, assumes this new role as OAG continues to expand its global presence.
Reporting directly to OAG's global CEO, Troy Ruhanen, Donovan will collaborate closely with leaders across the group's international agency networks. In a LinkedIn post, Donovan expressed enthusiasm for this new chapter, stating, "I am beyond happy that my journey continues with all the pirates and clients of TBWAAsia in this new role." He acknowledged the challenges and triumphs of his time at TBWA, including navigating the pandemic, while emphasizing that "It has been, and will continue to be, a blast."

Donovan brings extensive leadership experience to this position, having held senior roles at various agencies throughout his career. Prior to leading TBWAWorldwide Asia, he served as Group CEO of TBWASouth Africa and Managing Director at TBWAHunt Lascaris. He is also the co-founder of OpenCo, an agency acquired by TBWA in 2013.
This appointment follows the launch of OAG in August 2024, a strategic initiative that unites Omnicom's creative networks under a single leadership umbrella. The group now encompasses industry leaders such as BBDO, DDB, and TBWA, alongside other key agencies like Goodby Silverstein & Partners, GSD&M, Merkley & Partners, and Zimmerman.
This consolidation aims to better meet client demands for innovative and integrated creative solutions. OAG emphasizes that each agency within the group will maintain its distinct culture and brand identity.
