Over 67K brands advertised on Print during Jan-Mar’24, Honda Shine 100 leads the list

In Print, ad space per publication witnessed growth of 7% and 17% during Jan-Mar’23 and Jan-Mar’24, respectively, compared to Jan-Mar’22, as per Tam AdEx’s quarterly report (January-March 2024) on Print Advertising. Also, compared to Jan-Mar’23, ad space per publication observed growth of 10% in Jan-Mar’24.

Services sector retained its 1st position with 16% share of the Ad Space during Jan-Mar’24. The top 5 Sectors retained their respective positions in Print Advertising during Jan-Mar’24 over Jan-Mar’23. Top 10 Sectors collectively added 82% share of ad space. Compared to Jan-Mar’23, Telecom Products was the only new entrant among the top sectors in Jan-Mar’24.

Cars was the top category with 7% share of ad space in Jan-Mar’24. Among the Top 10 categories present in Jan-Mar’24, 3 belonged to the Education Sector. The Top 10 categories together covered 40% share of the ad space. During Jan-Mar’24, Multiple Courses and Cellular Phones-Smart Phones entered the Top 10 categories and secured the 9th and 10th positions compared to their 11th and 21st positions, respectively, in Jan-Mar’23.

The top 10 advertisers collectively added 16% share of the ad space in Print. On Print, SBS Biotech ascended to the 1st position during Jan-Mar’24 compared to Jan-Mar’23, whereas, Maruti Suzuki India descended to the 4th position in Jan-Mar’24, compared to its 1st position in Jan-Mar’23. In Print Advertising, more than 57K advertisers were present during Jan-Mar’24.

More than 67K brands advertised on Print during Jan-Mar’24 with Honda Shine 100 leading the list. Among the Top 10 brands present, 6 of them were new entrants during Jan-Mar’24 over Jan-Mar’23. Two out of the Top 10 brands were from Life Corporation Of India. Fiitjee shifted down to 8th position in Jan-Mar’24, compared to its 1st position in Jan-Mar’23.

Among Growing Categories, Cellular Phones-Smart Phones had the highest growth of 3x in terms of both ad space difference and growth % during Jan-Mar’24 over Jan-Mar’23, followed by Cars with 17% growth. Over 275+ Categories registered positive growth.

Over 33 K+ advertisers and 43 K+ brands exclusively promoted during Jan-Mar’24 in Print compared to Jan-Mar’23. Shri Ramjanmabhumi Teerth Kshetra and Honda Shine 100 were the top exclusive advertiser and brand, respectively, in Jan-Mar’24 compared to Jan-Mar’23.

Sales Promotion advertising covered 29% share of the Ad Space in Print during Jan-Mar’24. Among Sales Promotions, Discount Promotion obtained 1st position with 44% share of the Ad Space, followed by Multiple Promotion. The Top 2 promotions covered more than 85% share of the Ad Space during Jan-Mar’24.
