GroupM boosts retail media capabilities with Tesco Media partnership

The largest media investment group globally, GroupM is set to enhance its retail media capabilities through a strategic partnership with Tesco Media and Insight Platform. This landmark agreement includes an exclusive in-store screen partnership for Tesco Connected Store and encompasses both on-site and off-site digital offerings. GroupM clients will benefit from early access to platform innovations, fostering a direct feedback loop.

Luke Bozeat, GroupM UK’s chief operating officer, highlighted the partnership’s focus on driving innovation and leveraging Tesco's extensive Clubcard data, positioning both entities at the forefront of retail media initiatives.

In parallel, Omnicom Media Group UK and ITV have also forged strategic alliances with Tesco Media and Insight Platform, underscoring agencies' pivotal role in shaping the company's growth strategy. Uche Ofili, agency group head, emphasized the holistic approach to client collaboration, ensuring best-in-class solutions across Tesco’s platform.

Looking ahead, GroupM anticipates robust growth in retail media, predicting significant market share expansion globally and particularly strong performance in the UK market.
