SAB TV launches Mrs. Tendulkar, to hit TV screens on Jan 31st

Mrs. Tendulkar?  Mr. Tendulkar?  The buzz around this new show is that Mrs. Tendulkar formerly known as Mr. Tendulkar, is simply the stay-at-home DAD. This role reversal show Mrs. Tendulkar, is launched by SAB TV. 

This realistic comedy show is brought to you by Hats Off Productions, with JD Majhethia and Aatish Kapadia heading the team. Starring Deven Bhojani and Kishori Godbole as the lead characters, Mrs. Tendulkar premieres 31st, January 2011, and will air every Monday – Thursday at 9.30pm only on SAB TV. 

"Mrs. Tendulkar" is an unconventional story of bank colony members who work and live together as one big family. The show stars comedy-veteran Deven Bhojani as Suhaas Tendulkar and Kishori Godbole a well-known Marathi actress as Vibhavari Tendulkar.  The show tells the story of the Tendulkars, an eccentric family where the wife brings home the dough while the husband takes care of the kids and the home.

The role of Mrs. Tendulkar played by Deven Bhojani is the house-husband, does all the daily chores where as his wife Vibhavari played by Kishori Godbole is a bank manager at Gangaram Godbole Sahakari Bank. Mrs. Tendulkar encourages his wife to pursue her career at the bank and supports her by taking on the responsibility of a homemaker. However, this loving partnership between husband and wife does not settle well with the new society's residents. 

Speaking about the show, Producer, JD Majhethia said, “We were contemplating with this idea for a long time. After numerous meetings with Mr. Anooj Kapoor on different subjects, we agreed on Mrs. Tendulkar which excited us the most!  Mrs. Tendulkar is an apt mix of fresh and contemporary ideas. It is a show that will appeal to all age groups. We are very sure that it will be loved by housewives, working women, working men and also men who work at home!”

Script advisor, Aatish Kapadia stated, “Mrs. Tendulkar is a unique concept for Hats off Productions. We have always been known to create content which revolves around the Gujarati community. This is the first time that we are exploring the Maharashtrian community and we are trying our level best to get as close as we can to capture the Maharashtrian culture.”

Deven Bhojani said, “I am very excited for Mrs. Tendulkar. It is a challenging role for me, something that I have never done before. People have seen the promos and liked them. I am sure when they see the show they are going to love it!”

The story will revolve around the love-hate relationship between the Tendulkar’s and the society members and how within a short time, both sides start accepting each other forming a beautiful bond.
