During the interview Sharmila spoke about her first break in films at the age of 13.She debut in Bollywood with the movie "Kashmir ki Kali'. Inspite of her not having any professional training in media, the film still turned out to be a huge blockbuster. Sharmila proved her worth in her first movie itself.
She further revealed that in her prime days in the film industry there was very limited scope for an actor to grow as the movies were all based on the same stereotypical theme. However, she still waded through all the obstacles and climbed the success ladder.
Her struggle was not only professional; getting married to Mansoor Ali Khan, the Nawab of Pataudi, was a big challenge. The marriage was opposed by the family, but nevertheless she managed to overcome obstacles.
Sharmila Tagore further highlighted that these days she is involved with the Indian Film Censor Board. She is also the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and helps in spreading HIV AIDS awareness and other social messages for the uplift of the society.
