‘Singham Again’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ enter the Rs 100 crore club

The mega box office battle between Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham Again’ and Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 ' this Diwali have proved to be beneficial for both the movies as they have managed to enter the Rs 100 crore club in the first weekend itself.

Rohit Shetty’s cop drama has strong connections to the Ramayan and has a galaxy of stars – Ajay playing Ram, Kareena Kapoor Khan as Sita, Akshay Kumar as Jatayu, Ranveer Singh as Hanuman, Tiger Shroff as Lakshman, Deepika Padukone as Vibhishan, and Arjun Kapoor as Ravan. The director has managed to grab the attention of the audiences with his religious twist to a cop franchise as the film has earned approximately Rs 121 crore at the Box Office.

On the other hand, the third instalment of the horror-comedy film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Triptii Dimri, too, has impressed the audiences as the film collected Rs 106 crore at the box office approximately.

Trade experts had predicted that both the movies might collect around Rs 200-300 crore approximately on the opening weekend and it looks like that their predictions have turned to be correct as together the two movies have actually managed to earn more than Rs 200 crore.

Now, it would be an acid test for these movies on Monday and the following weekdays, when their business is likely to take a dip. Which one of them can hold the fort till next weekend – only time will tell.
