Son Lux to compose score for Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts
Marvel Studios has confirmed that American experimental band Son Lux will compose the score for its upcoming film Thunderbolts. The trio, known for their Oscar® and BAFTA-nominated work on Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), will bring their unique sound to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts brings together an unlikely group of antiheroes—Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker—who are lured into a deadly mission by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. As they confront their darkest pasts, they must decide whether to embrace their fractured identities or unite as something greater before it’s too late.
The film sees the return of Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in their established MCU roles. Newcomers to the franchise include Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, and Wendell Edward Pierce.
Produced by Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, and Jason Tamez serving as executive producers, Thunderbolts is set to expand the MCU’s roster of unconventional heroes.
The film is slated for release in 2025.
