Soumyajit Mahapatra appointed to NSOU Board

Soumyajit Mahapatra, a distinguished authority in public relations and communications, has recently been appointed to the Board of Studies (BoS) for the Advanced Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising at Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU). This esteemed appointment underscores the significance of his expertise and marks his third tenure as a BoS member, following his previous contributions at Amity University Kolkata and Adamas University in West Bengal.

Soumyajit's professional journey spans 36 years in the Department of Telecommunications and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), where he has amassed a unique blend of skills and knowledge in key areas such as Information Technology (IT), Quality Assurance, Learning and Development, Media Relations, and Events.

As the Chairman of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Kolkata Chapter, Soumyajit Mahapatra's leadership has been exemplary. Under his stewardship, the chapter has achieved significant milestones, and his efforts have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the PRSI National Level Leadership Award, the Best Secretary Award, and the Best Chairman Award.

Internationally, he has also been honored with the Global Excellence Award in Journalism from the Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT), Noida.

Soumyajit has conceptualized and executed several innovative intellectual property (IP) events, particularly under the aegis of the PRSI Kolkata Chapter. Among these are notable initiatives such as Engage and BrandEdge, which have become important platforms for industry professionals to share knowledge, network, and discuss the latest trends and challenges in the field.

Additionally, Soumyajit pioneered "Beyond The Class Room," a program aimed at enhancing students' learning experiences by bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application.
