Spotify suffers 3-hour outage, affecting 40,000+ US users
Audio streaming giant Spotify experienced a significant outage on Sunday, lasting approximately three hours and impacting over 40,000 users in the United States at its peak, according to outage tracking site Downdetector.

Spotify confirmed resolution of the issue on social media platform X: "Everything's looking much better now!"
As of 3 p.m. ET (1900 GMT), Downdetector reported fewer than 600 users still experiencing issues in the US.
Affected users reported inability to stream new content, playlist loading issues, and sudden music stoppage.
Despite the outage, Spotify's paying subscriber base grew to 246 million in Q2.
Spotify has not publicly disclosed the reason behind the outage.
