Could you elaborate on the vision and mission of One Health Assist? How you plan to redefine healthcare accessibility in India?
At One Health Assist, we’re on a mission to make quality healthcare easy, accessible, and personalized for everyone. Our AI-powered platform brings together the best of technology and traditional healthcare, allowing users to upload and track their health records, take smart health assessments, monitor their well-being in real time, and book diagnostic tests—all in one place. Plus, we’ve built a strong network of doctors, wellness experts, and even veterinary specialists to ensure comprehensive care. With a focus on convenience and innovation, we’re redefining what digital healthcare looks like in India.
What were some of the biggest challenges that you faced while building One Health Assist, and how did you overcome them?
Building One Health Assist came with its share of challenges, especially in integrating AI with traditional healthcare. Bridging the gap between technology and healthcare required deep collaboration between experts from both fields, reinforcing the importance of interdisciplinary teamwork. Ensuring robust data security was another key priority, as trust is the foundation of any healthcare platform.
Creating a seamless, user-friendly experience took extensive testing and feedback, while competing with established players like Practo, LabCorp, and PetCare—each focused on separate sectors—pushed us to unify these services into a single, comprehensive platform. Scaling our offerings while maintaining quality was tackled through a phased approach, allowing us to refine and optimize at every stage.
Through persistence, innovation, and a relentless commitment to making healthcare more accessible, we’ve not only overcome these challenges but continue to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our users.
Funding remains a crucial aspect for health-tech startups. Could you discuss the level of access to investment in India and how One Health Assist navigated this challenge during its growth?
Funding is crucial for health-tech startups. In India, the health-tech sector has attracted substantial investor interest, driven by increased demand and innovation in healthcare. One Health Assist, however, is bootstrapped at this point in time. We rely on our own resources to maintain control over our operations and build a sustainable business model. By leveraging our innovative omnichannel approach and the plan to establish 50 offline stores via franchise route, we are rapidly expanding our market presence and will cater to diverse consumers. This strategy has enabled us to navigate funding challenges and opened up multiple conversations for us.
Have any government initiatives or policies helped your startup or the health-tech sector overall? If so, how have they contributed to your journey?
Government initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and the creation of Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) have greatly enhanced the health-tech sector in India. These policies, meant to extend universal health coverage and build primary care, have generated plenty of business opportunities for startups like One Health Assist to innovate and grow. The focus that Government has on health is commendable and allowed a consumer discovery, contributing to our growth and success in the health-tech industry.
With AI playing an increasing role in healthcare, how does One Health Assist leverage AI for preventive care and better patient outcomes?
At One Health Assist, AI isn’t just a feature—it’s at the heart of how we make healthcare smarter and more proactive. We’re not just another health platform; we see OHA as your go-to AI health assistant, offering real-time insights, guidance, and motivation to help you stay on top of your well-being.
One of our standout features, OneHealth Locker, lets you securely store, share, and track your health records. More than that, our AI-powered Health Score analyzes key health metrics—vital stats, diagnostic results, and even mental wellness indicators—to give you a clear picture of your overall health. By making healthcare more personalized, accessible, and data-driven, OHA helps individuals and families take charge of their health before issues arise.
How do you ensure healthcare accessibility for all, especially in rural communities where medical facilities and awareness is limited?
At One Health Assist, our mission is to make healthcare more accessible, reliable, and personalised for every individual. We are ambitiously targeting Rs.100 crore in revenue within our first year of operations. By seamlessly integrating digital innovation with strategic physical expansion, the company is poised to revolutionize healthcare accessibility across India. Through the application of artificial intelligence, we will be able to track health trends, improve doctor diagnosis and provide personalized care plans, meaning that even those in remote areas will have access to quality health care and support.
What are your strategic goals for expansion, and how do you plan to scale operations to reach a broader audience?
One Health Assist aims to make healthcare more accessible across India by combining technology with physical stores. We plan to open 50 stores in urban and semi-urban areas by 2025 using a scalable franchise model. Our goal is to reach more people, especially in smaller cities, by offering AI-based services, online consultations, and personalized care. This comprehensive approach boosts convenience and trust, addressing the changing demands of India's healthcare consumers.
What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs looking to enter the health-tech sector, especially in terms of innovation, scalability, and long-term sustainability?
In today’s era, innovation, scalability, and long-term sustainability is the key to any business. Therefore, embracing new technologies and stay adaptable to evolving advancements. Design your solutions with scalability in mind, ensuring they can grow with increasing demand while maintaining quality. Develop a business model that balances profitability with social impact, considering environmental, economic, and social factors. Put the needs of your users at the forefront by listening to their feedback and tailoring your offerings accordingly. Lastly, build partnerships within the healthcare ecosystem to drive innovation and open new growth opportunities. By following these principles, you can create impactful and enduring health-tech solutions.
