Takeover won't change Volvo's Indian plans

Swedish car maker Volvo Cars has reportedly cleared the air about its Indian plans.

According to the reports, the car company has said that its roadmap for India will remain unchanged despite the acquisition of it by a Chinese firm Geely Auto.

Volvo Cars is owned by US car giant Ford, which is looking for the buyer for Volvo and Chinese firm Geely Auto has shown interest and is also being preferred by the company.

After launching itself in India, Volvo cars had made its operations independent of Ford, and the wholly-owned subsidiary was renamed as Volvo Auto India Pvt Ltd.
