Unilever named Creative Marketer of the Year by Cannes Lions

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has named Unilever as the 2024 Creative Marketer of the Year. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon a marketer known for its outstanding Lion-winning work over a sustained period, with Unilever recognized for its courageous, creative, and innovative marketing solutions. Unilever previously received this award in 2010 and has since earned numerous Lions across its brands, including Dove, Hellmann’s, and Magnum, among others.

In 2023, Unilever's Dove brand received the Media Lions Grand Prix for its '#TurnYourBack' campaign, which promotes inclusive beauty. This campaign builds upon Dove's iconic 'Real Beauty' initiative launched in 2004, demonstrating the brand's commitment to driving meaningful change. Additionally, Unilever's Hellmann's brand has made waves with its 'Make Taste, Not Waste' platform, addressing food waste issues with creative campaigns like 'Mayo Cat' and 'Mayo McHack,' which received recognition at Cannes Lions.

These award-winning campaigns highlight Unilever's dedication to creativity, supported by its marketing philosophy of 'Get on the Frontline' and the Creative Excellence program. Led by the Creative Council, comprising Unilever's Chief Marketing Officers and creative agency leaders, this program focuses on fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and driving effectiveness. The Creative Marketer of the Year award, introduced in 1992, has previously been awarded to brands like Apple, Coca-Cola, and Google, underscoring the link between creativity and business success.
