Veena Malik and Rakhi Sawant Arrive In Delhi For India TV's World Cup Reality Show

Pakistani actress Veena Malik  and India’s TV queen Rakhi Sawant recently arrived at Indira Gandhi International, Delhi to take part in India TV's unique World Cup Reality Show, Bigg Toss.

 

As World Cup fever grips the Indian subcontinent , India TV  has assembled top notch celebrities, notably Veena Malik and Rakhi Sawant,  to watch  World Cup cricket matches involving India and discuss the pros and cons of players  in their inimitable style. The guests will be housed in an exclusive villa.

 

This is the first time any Indian news channel has gone all out to launch a reality TV show involving celebrities for a World Cup sporting event. 

 

"This is mindblowing", said Veena Malik,  outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport , soon after her arrival from Pakistan.

 

Veena Malik said, she looked forward to do some exhilarating job during the India TV reality show titled Bigg Toss, to be telecast daily  from 8 pm to 9 pm prime time from February 17th onwards on those days when Team India will be playing World Cup matches.

 

The reality show will involve, apart from Veena Malik, Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant and several former cricketers and politicians.

 

"Cricket is my love. I follow this game closely and love it", said Veena,  "I follow cricket just like any other fan."

 

 Rakhi Sawant said that Team India will definitely win the World Cup this time.

 

"It has been a long time since 1983 when Kapil Dev won the World Cup for India. We want Dhoni, Sachin and others to win the cup for India this time", said Rakhi Sawant.

 

The Bollywood hottie said, "I want to see Pakistan and Australia lose. Everything depends on Dhoni and his boys".

 

Asked about his favourite Team India player, Rakhi Sawant was not at all hesitant. "It's Yusuf Pathan. He is fabulous. He is tagdaa(strong) and visphotak (explosive)", said Rakhi. A crowd of onlookers gathered impromptu at the airport to watch the item girl.

 

Shouting Chak De India, the item girl said: "I am Rakhi Sawant, India's original one. Veena Malik  is after all from Pakistan. We however welcome all our guests. The rest I will see when I land in Bigg Toss house. Main dhamaal machane waali hoon (I am going to create a buzz)".

 

 

The flamboyant item girl  also said: "If Sachin, Dhoni are the big boys of cricket, then Rakhi is the big girl of Bigg Toss.  Mumbai ki mulgi aa gayi hai Delhi (the girl from Mumbai has come to Delhi)".

 

 

Outlining the contours of the TV reality show, Vinod Kapri, managing editor, India TV said, this will be the first time any Indian news channel will be hosting a reality show in the runup to the coverage of a World Cup sporting event.

 

So far, the reality show telecast will involve  a Pre Match Episode, in which around 14 to 15 celebrities will stay in a villa and will be divided in to two groups. In turn they will choose their favorite player out of the Indian squad.

 

The participants will be given various “Bigg Toss Tasks” which one of the groups needs to win to get the first chance for choosing the favourite player.

 

Towards the end of the episode, both the teams would  have chosen their favourite players and  would then wait for the next day to see their performance in the match involving Team India.

 

In the Post Match Episode, Vinod Kapri said,  all individual house mates and their teams will be awarded points on the basis of performance of players chosen by them. Whosoever gets the highest points will be adjudged the winner.

 

But, there lies a catch: There is a "Master Stroke" which may overturn the whole process and whosoever gets higher points through master stroke may become the ultimate winner of the Bigg Toss contest.

 

In the reality show, there will be several tasks for participants  titled Bigg Toss Tasks. These are  tasks, or  in other words, small games given to inmates to make the entire programme interesting.

 

These will be mostly cricket related small games for example flying off bails and stumps through balls, said Kapri. 

 

Master Stroke  will be introduced in the post match episodes to give twists and turns to the proceedings in the house.

 

Master stroke may throw an unexpected winner and may give rise very interesting situations among the inmates.  For example when a winner is about to be declared based on the maximum points, the  inmates will be given chance to earn more points by searching for miniature bats with point concealed in the house at various locations, India TV managing editor said.
