Viacom18 rakes in strong Q3 revenue

The joint venture company between media conglomerate Viacom and CNBC TV18 has turned its third-quarter into profit from its hindi general entertainment channel Colors.

According to the reports, Viacom18 has declared a net profit of Rs 56.34 million for the three months ended December, as against a net loss of Rs 416.28 million in the trailing quarter.

The revenue has surged to 2.66 billion, up 33 per cent sequentially. Not only Colors, which has posted a net jump of 41 per cent, but other channels of Viacom18 have also done better

MTV's ad revenue rose 34 per cent as it redefined itself as a youth entertainment channel and donned a new look during the quarter. Even Nick also saw a growth of 27 per cent.
