Visfot: A Mind-Blowing Clash of Fates with Riteish and Fardeen at Their Best!

A direct to JioCinema release; the Sanjay Gupta produced and Kookie Gulati directed Visfot intermingles two parallel tracks of its leads Fardeen Khan and Riteish Deshmukh.

Fardeen is a Dongri based private cab driver, who unwittingly loses contraband belonging to Acid Tai (Seema Biswas) who forces him to indulge in a kidnapping of Riteish's child. Riteish himself, has lost this kiddo while spying on his cheating wife (Priya Bapat). Their lives clash with each other resulting in a 'Visfot'... nope, there is no actual explosion or blast here. But the title is more an explosion of the mind for its two main leads!!

Riteish is simply outstanding even in a non-comic role. Note his mental breakdown on seeing his wife in a hotel room bed and the subsequent cafè scene where he learns his child has gone missing. Fardeen Khan is also earnest as the cabbie, pulled in to a vortex of crime.

Of the supporting cast, Sheeba Chaddha as the senile mother, leaves a mighty mark as always. Kystle D'Souza playing Fardeen's girlfriend, delivers a bold and striking performance. Vivaan Parashar makes his presence felt as the insta reel making goon Altaaf. Priya Bapat is truly a revelation, surprising you with some bold scenes and a solid act.

Kookie Gulati's direction is a significant improvement over his past efforts like Prince (2010) and The Big Bull (2021). Having said that, Visfot bears a Sanjay Gupta stamp right from its Mumbaiyya setting to the street lingo. Particularly, the dialogues are truly zingy and peppered with punchlines. The film has just one song but that comes at a crucial climax sequence and ends up irritating more...

Visfot won't make you sing its hosannas but it will certainly engage and entertain you on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Try it out!!
