Vivek Modi to lead Colors Bangla and Bengali Movie Channels

Vivek Modi has been named the new leader of Colors Bangla and Bengali movie channels under the Reliance-Disney joint venture. In his new role, Modi will report to Sumanta Bose, recently appointed as the Head of the Entertainment Cluster, which oversees Star Plus, Star Bharat, and the Bengali, Marathi, and Gujarati markets.
Modi brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as Business Head and SVP - Bangla & Odia Cluster at Viacom18 Media Private Limited. During his tenure from January to November 2024, Modi held complete P&L responsibilities for Colors Bangla, Colors Bangla Cinema, and Colors Odia. He played a pivotal role in content strategy for both TV and JioCinema Bangla OTT, focusing on driving ratings and increasing watch time hours.
With over 20 years of experience, Modi has built businesses across various geographies, sectors, and platforms. His expertise spans media, content, brand management, communication, new business development, and P&L management. Beyond his corporate achievements, Modi has contributed to academia as a Professor of Practice in Marketing at Manav Rachna University, Gurugram, and has led media workshops, mentorship programs, and marketing lectures.
His appointment is expected to strengthen the Bengali entertainment portfolio of the Reliance-Disney joint venture, leveraging his strategic vision and operational expertise to deliver growth across platforms.
