The Supreme Court, in Writ Petition Civil No. 645/2022-IMA & Anr. Vs. UOI & Ors., has issued directive in its order dated May 7, 2024, that all advertisers/ advertising agencies must submit a ‘Self-Declaration Certificate’ before publishing or broadcasting any advertisement.

Remove claim of ‘100% Fruit Juices’ from labels & ads: FSSAI to FBOs
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a directive mandating all Food Business Operators (FBOs) to remove any claim of ‘100% fruit juices’ from the labels and advertisements of reconstituted fruit juices with immediate effect. All the FBOs have also been instructed to exhaust all existing pre-printed packaging materials before September 1, 2024.
