Will ‘legal eagles’ Akshay Kumar & Arshad Warsi charm the BO for ‘Jolly LLB 3’?

The third instalment of the ‘Jolly LLB’ franchise went on the floors recently. While Arshad Warsi had starred in the first film, Akshay Kumar had featured in the second part. The third film will have both the actors playing lawyers. Subhash Kapoor had directed the previous two films, which achieved big box office success.

While ‘Jolly LLB 3’ was announced a few months ago, it is only now that the film has gone on the floors. The team is expected to shoot in Rajasthan, followed by a Delhi schedule. Arshad and Akshay have already started shooting for their parts and the team has been doing preparations for the past couple of months in Mumbai.

So far, Akshay and Arshad’s names have been confirmed in the star cast. The film will also see Saurabh Shukla return as the harried but astute Judge Tripathy. The makers are yet to reveal the name/s of the leading lady/ ladies for the third part. Amruta Rao and Huma Qureshi had starred opposite Arshad and Akshay, respectively, in the earlier two instalments.

‘Jolly LLB 1’ had released in 2013, which saw rookie lawyer Arshad pitted against the seasoned big time lawyer Boman Irani in a hit and run case involving the scion of an industrialist family. ‘Jolly LLB 2’ saw street smart lawyer Akshay take on the highly dramatic Annu Kapoor in a case dealing with the police slaying of an innocent man branded as a terrorist.

It is said that both the films were inspired by true events. It will be interesting to see which case the makers choose to take up in the upcoming courtroom drama.
