Zee Tamil’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa paves way for village connectivity
Zee Tamil, a pioneer in Tamil television for over 15 years, has once again demonstrated its commitment to creating meaningful impact through entertainment. Its popular singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, has become the catalyst for real change, leading to the launch of a much-needed bus service for the remote village of Ammanapakkam, Villupuram district.
The story unfolded when Dharshini, a contestant from Ammanapakkam, shared her village’s struggle with the lack of transportation. Despite being home to over 70 families, the village had no bus facilities, forcing children to walk 10 kilometers daily to school and isolating the community from essential services. Dharshini’s emotional plea on the show touched hearts across Tamil Nadu, including the team at Zee Tamil, who took immediate action.
Zee Tamil’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa team reached out to the Tamil Nadu government, spotlighting the issue. The response was swift, with Transport Minister S.S. Sivasankar personally intervening to make the long-awaited bus service a reality. Today, the transport minister flagged off the service in Ammanapakkam, bringing joy and relief to the villagers.
This initiative is a testament to Zee Tamil’s dedication to leveraging its platform for the greater good. Known for its socially conscious programming and commitment to quality entertainment, Zee Tamil has continually championed causes that resonate with its audience and bring tangible change.
The residents of Ammanapakkam expressed heartfelt gratitude to Zee Tamil and the government for addressing their long-standing need. This success story stands as a shining example of how entertainment can empower communities and inspire action.
