How do you balance your diverse roles as a Travel Host, Film Critic, Actor, and Publicist Manager? What are the key challenges you face in juggling these responsibilities?

One has to resort to a disciplined time management policy, linked with clear prioritization in order to manage such multiple and varied roles in the same domain. Each one demands its focus; hence, I have certain times within my clocked timetable that reserve space for each of those activities. Therein lies the challenge: really making sure each role has the needed attention without compromising my quality of work. Effective planning and setting realistic goals help me in managing these effectively. Further, being organized and delegating responsibilities on each task is another key to hold this balance.

What does a typical day look like for you? Could you share the 5 to 7 key activities that you prioritize in your day-to-day life?

My days usually start pretty early, by 5:00-5:30 AM, with some form of workout to help get my blood pumping. Right after, I jump into my work as a Content creator for my YouTube channel, Travellers N Tubers, by scripting, shooting, and editing travel vlogs and film reviews late morning as a Publicist by handling client communications and press releases. During lunch time, I have my acting work and rehearsals. There are small pockets of time here and there for industry research and networking. The evenings are kept for relaxation, reviewing the day’s work, and planning for the next day.

What inspired you to pursue a career in PR, and how did you prepare for this field alongside your other occupations? What motivated you to choose this path?

I shall answer this question with a brief description about my academics, I have done B. Tech, however while pursuing B. Tech in my second year, on May 31, 2013 I watched a movie named ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and it gave me a direction. As soon as I left the theatre, I knew what I had to do after this. I completed B. Tech and right after that I took admission in Journalism and Mass Communication. And while I was doing Mass Comm, I realised there were a variety of fields that I could choose as my career.

I never wanted to be a part of a normal 9 to 5 desk job. Hence, PR was an inevitable decision for me due to my enthusiasm for storytelling, communication and traveling. It was motivated by the dynamic character of the profession and its influence on public perception. PR is not easy in addition to other roles; it continues to require rigorous time management and much commitment to continuous learning. Choosing PR was motivated by the need to bridge the gap between organizations and their audiences, which could be achieved by mastering communication and media relations.

Did you have any mentors or icons who guided you in your career, either in the PR profession or in your roles as a Travel Host, Film Critic, and Actor? How did they influence your journey?

Yes, I’ve been one of the lucky ones to have had several mentors who helped shape a great deal of my career. I consider my parents, in fact, my entire family and my seniors as my strength as well as mentors. From my mother, who was a teacher, I learned how to fine-tune my communication skills; strategic thinking, in fact. As a travel host and film critic, much inspiration has been drawn from some of the old giants in the industry; their work ethics and creativity set high bars. My parents and my family taught me to value time and to manage it, doing the right things at the right time. Guidance from my seniors has been invaluable in shaping my approach towards content and public relations and thereby helping me to find my way through challenges and grab opportunities in these very versatile fields.

With such a demanding and diverse career, how do you maintain a healthy work-life balance? What are your go-to practices for managing stress and ensuring personal well-being?

A good work-life balance requires one to put boundaries and take care of themselves. I try and make time for definite moments of exercising the body, taking rest, and other interests outside of work life. The notions of staying in the present moment by using techniques like practicing mindfulness and spending quality time with my wife, my brother and cousins and my family are also inculcated. I also need to make sure that I spend ample quality time with my friends just to give them a break from me in terms of professional responsibility. All these practices help me to recharge and remain focused across various roles.

Could you share some of the key milestones or achievements in your career so far? How have these accomplishments shaped your professional journey?

One thing would obviously be to actually launch my YouTube channel, Traveller N Tubers, and somehow be able to get a large subscriber fan base by putting up travel and shooting content. Another feather added to the cap would be my latter days’ association with acting and performing in the music video ‘Tu Hi Meri Rabb Hai’, which gained quite a bit of appreciation. Apart from that, I have won various industry awards as a Publicist, such as winning at AdGully’s DIGIXX Awards 2023 for my client bitsCrunch. These achievements just affirmed my love for storytelling and, in a professional sense, opened up ways anew that continued to motivate me toward excellence in my role.

How do you stay informed and updated in your roles as a Travel Host, Film Critic, Actor, and Publicist Manager? Are there any specific resources or strategies you rely on?

Actually, staying connected and up-to-date is absolutely a part of doing my own industry research; it’s one part mixed with a daily research activity. Engaging with others through events, networking, and following industry news keeps me informed well enough. For the travel and film world, I keep up with the trends through the various industry publications, online forums, and social media. For travelling, I go with my own instinct whatever place comes to my mind. I research a bit about it and very soon plan my trip to shoot at that place.

What drives your passion for the diverse roles you hold? How do you continue to grow and evolve in these fields, ensuring that you remain relevant and successful?

The burning passion comes from my deep love for stories and that people are emotionally connected through various media. Every role offers to be creative and influential – be it public relations, filmmaking, or traveling. To keep growing, I’m always in the quest for new learning opportunities, open to feedback, and open to innovative approaches. Peer networking with industry peers and experimenting with new innovative approaches also help me evolve and remain relevant in these ever-changing fields.
