BMC orders Railway Authorities to take down 45 billboards

BMC has requested railway authorities to eliminate 45 billboards that exceed the approved size. They've also asked for a structural audit of 205 hoardings on Central and Western Railway-owned land. Following Monday's fatal crash, BMC is cracking down on illegal billboards citywide.

The civic body discovered that the company responsible for one billboard hadn't paid the licensing fee or obtained all necessary approvals. Consequently, action against this company has now begun.

Additionally, a case has been filed against Bhavesh Bhinde, owner of Ego Media Private Limited, for the Ghatkopar hoarding.
