Boman Irani makes directorial debut with The Mehta Boys on Prime Video

Prime Video has announced that its highly anticipated Original movie The Mehta Boys will premiere on February 7, exclusively on the platform. Directed by Boman Irani in his directorial debut, the film is produced by Irani Movietone LLP in association with Chalkboard Entertainment LLP and co-written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Alexander Dinelaris.

A heartwarming and poignant relationship drama, The Mehta Boys delves into the complex dynamics of a father-son relationship. The film features a stellar ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Avinash Tiwary, Shreya Chaudhry, and Puja Sarup in key roles. It explores the intricacies of their relationship as they are unexpectedly forced to spend 48 hours together, navigating emotional turmoil, misunderstandings, and the deep bonds that ultimately hold them together.

The Mehta Boys will be available exclusively on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide, with subtitles in multiple languages and dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

The film had a global premiere at the prestigious 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF) in September 2024, where it won the Best Feature Film Award. It also garnered a Best Actor win for Boman Irani at the International Film Festival of South Asia in Toronto in October 2024. Additionally, The Mehta Boys made its Asian debut at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa in November 2024 and was selected to open the Indian Film Festival Berlin in January 2025.
