Cannes Lions 2012: McCann bags the first gold Lion for India!

McCann Erickson  has made India proud by winning a gold lion in the outdoor Lions category. This is the first gold lion for India this year. McCann won the honour for its work for Western Union money transfer.
 
The innovative campaign by McCann Erickson employed billboards with changing images of Abraham Lincoln , Mahatma Gandhi and  Queen Elizabeth II,to draw attention to the change from dollar to rupee or pound to rupee. Through the innovation, it intended to drive home the message that Western Union money transfer is the fastest money transfer service.
 
The Creative Director for  the campaign is Prasoon Joshi. The Art Director is Akshay Kapnadak and the Copy Writer is Rahul Mathew.
 
Out of the 22 shortlisted Indian entries in the outdoor category this year, only McCann Erickson won a metal.
