IIT Kanpur Honours Shashi Sinha with 2024 Distinguished Alumnus Award

Shashi Sinha, CEO of IPG Mediabrands India, has been honoured with the "Distinguished Alumnus Award 2024" by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. Sinha graduated from IIT Kanpur with an engineering degree in 1979. This prestigious award, the highest bestowed by the institute on its alumni, recognises exceptional merit and achievements.

The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, 2 November 2024, at IIT Kanpur. Sinha holds the distinction of being an alumnus of two of India’s top educational institutions, IIT and IIM. He began his career as a Product Manager at Parle and later founded Lodestar, India’s first specialised media planning and buying agency, in 1990. Sinha was named CEO of IPG Mediabrands India following the group’s consolidation in the country. He also received the "Distinguished Alumnus Award" from IIM Bangalore in 2012.
