India Celebrates Amul Founder Dr Kurien's 90th Birthday

Dr Kurien, the architect of India's White Revolution, has touched the lives of millions of the countrymen. These sentiments were amply reflected in the flood of messages received through email, SMS, on facebook and twitter from every corner of the country. Acknowledgement of his invaluable contribution to nation-building is echoed by the old and young; from rural & urban India; from the cooperative or corporate world.

The young net-savvy generation too has joined in large number to celebrate his birthday making #kurien and #amul top trends on twitter in India by afternoon of 26th November 2011. Dr Kurien also received few thousand SMS and approx one thousand emails during the course of the day from eminent citizens, business leaders, farmers and associates on the special channels created by Amul.

The Chairman of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) Shri Parthibhai Bhatol and Managing Director Shri RS Sodhi greeted Dr Kurien today morning at his residence in Anand with a bouquet of 90 red roses and a cake with 90 candles and wished him many happy returns of the day on behalf of 3 million milk producers of Gujarat.
